He graduated from Crown Point High School (Crown Point, Indiana) in 1961 and then went on to attend and graduate from Indiana State University and the Chicago Art institute. On June 15, 1963 Victor married Mary Kay Rickie in Lowell, Lake, Indiana, USA. Together they had a daughter, Kara Dawn Verbalaitis and two sons, Victor Hugh Verbalaitis and Richard Lee Verbalaitis. Victor was a ceramics artist and a teacher and taught at Phoenix Country Day School, Grand Canyon College and Phoenix College.

Victor R Verbalaitis Obituary
Victor R. Verbalaitis, 43, a ceramics artist and teacher, died July 10, 1986, in an accident in Parowan Canyon, Utah.

Mr. Verbalaitis, of Phoenix, was born in Gary, Ind., and moved to Arizona 16 years ago. He graduated from Indiana State University and the Chicago Art institute. He taught at Phoenix Country Day School, Grand Canyon College and Phoenix College. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Shadow Mountain High School Booster Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Kay; daughter, Kara Dawn; sons, Victor Hugh and Richard Lee; and parents, John and Vernice. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Grimshaw Bethany Chapel, 710 W. Bethany Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at his church, 5510 N. Central.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Verbalaitis Trust Fund, care of MeraBank,
4754 E. Cactus, Phoenix 85032.
