Betty Bronson (1906-1971) American actress was born "Elizabeth Ada Bronson" on 17 November 1906 in Trenton, New Jersey to parents, piano salesman, Frank Stanislaus Bronson (1876-1923) and Nellie Smith (1884-1967). Betty began her acting career in 1922, playing bit parts and minor roles. Her big break came in 1924 when she was hand picked by the author JM Barrie to play the title role in the silent film production of "Peter Pan". From 1925 to 1932 she appeared in about twenty two films and made a fairly successful transition to the "talkies" with "The Singing Fool" in 1928.
In 1932 she married businessman, Ludwig Richard Lauerhass (1904-1981). The couple had one son, Ludwig Lauerhass (1935-). Though active on the stage from 1930, Betty didn't make another film until, "Yodelin' Kid from Pine Ridge" in 1937. Between 1956 and 1971 she appeared on a number of television shows and had minor roles in a handful of films. Betty Bronson died on 19 October 1971 in Pasadena, California and is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, California.
