Karen (Risberget) Ourom of Våler County, Hedmark Norge was born on April 5, 1888 at Risberget, and died at age 88 years old on May 1, 1976 in Halden, Halden County, Østfold.
Bjarne had a good life. When he retired, he built a house about two kilometers from the center of Våler, where he went skiing in the winter till he was in the eighties. He had his own potatoes at his land. The whole family were quite often gathered at the house "Solbu" for great times. There were his daughters Ruth and Synnøve and their husbands with their 4 children and his son, Knut Paul with his wife and their daughter. Bjarnes wife was real good at cooking. Her name was Karen, and she was more quiet than Bjarne, who was a very social and talkative and laughing person. As grandparents they were the best. When Bjarne asked his grandchildren for services as painting some walls or participate in the harvest, fruits, vegetables and potatoes, he always paid us generously. He was proud of us, and he cared a lot about us. He was not afraid of telling us what not do to when we were teen-agers.
