He served in the Rev War as a Sargent and Cpl and Lieut. He marched as a minuteman on the alarm of 19 April 1775 and at Lexington. Caleb marched to Tiverton RI on the alarm in 1780. Farnum, Caleb, Uxbridge. Corporal, Capt. Joseph Chapin's co. of Minute-men, which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775; service, 10 days; also, Sergeant, Capt. Samuel Read, Jr.'s co., Col. Josiah Whitney's regt.; marched Dec. -, 1776; returned March -, 1777; service, 3 mos. 13 days, at the Jerseys; roll dated Uxbridge; also, Capt. Thaddeus Read's co., Col. Nathan Tyler's regt.; entered service July 28, 1780; discharged Aug. 7, 1780; service, 14 days, travel included; company marched to Tiverton, R. I., on an alarm.
