Charles Ludwig was baptized on March 23, 1846 at Rambow in Dorf Mecklenburg, MV. He married Mary (Kastendieck) Gruschow in December 1874 in Kings County, New York United States, and had children Charles Rudolph Gruschow, Henrietta Marie (Gruschow) Mulcahy, Alfred Gruschow, Walter Gruschow, Clara Friedricka Gruschow, Charlotte Gruschow, Robert Albert Gruschow, William James Gruschow, Edward Edwin Gruschow, and Henry Arthur Gruschow. Charles Ludwig Gruschow died at age 71 years old on June 5, 1917 at Second Place, in Brooklyn, Kings County, and was buried on June 8, 1917 at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn.
