Carmela Dorr

Carmela Dorr was born Carmela Sarnelli and was the first born of Neapolitan Italian immigrants Generoso and Filomena (nee Bifolco) Sarnelli. She was born in Brooklyn in 1922 and lived in Italy from 1932 to 1936 as a child in the town where her parents were born in Sarno (Salerno) at the foot of the Mt. Vusuvius volcano.She was one of 5 children, i.e. Carmela, Assunta, Carlo, Felice and Aldo (all deceased). She had 3 children; Joan, Dorothy and son Micheal and 9 grandchildren. She settled in New Jersey in the 1950's with her first husband Armand Zuppa in the Keyport area and past away at age 82 in Parlin, New Jersey.
