Charles Edward McKool was born in Dallas on August 5, 1925 of immigrant Lebanese parents Khalil (Charlie) and Filomena Nasser Mickoul. He was baptized at St Patrick Catholic Church in Dallas and attended school at St. Patrick, Crozier Tech High School and Southern Methodist University. He married Vira Evelyn Miller on September 15, 1946. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1996 and renewed their gown at St. Monica Catholic Church where they were long time time parishioners. They adopted seven children, Molly, Patricia, Charles Kelly, Kevin, Catherine “Kitty”, Mark and Kristina, and assisted Catholic Charities by providing foster care for over 30 infants. Charles belonged to numerous charitable and civic organizations. He was a member of the Craftsman Club, Dallas Photoengravers Association the Good Fellowship Club, the Bzebdine Club and an active leader and officer of the Dal Tech Alumni Association. The Southern Federation of Syrian Lebanese Clubs once honored him as Man of the Year. He started his own business, Continental Engraving in 1946 which later became known as Continental Graphics. In 1979 he founded Mckool Graphics where he was active as president until his death. He was also a board member and partial owner of Printco Enterprises, a trucking company in Memphis, Tennessee. He loved taking the family on vacations to the Galveston Island on the Texas Coast, skiing in Colorado, and fishing at Caddo Lake. He also enjoyed visits to the horse races with close friends and business-associates. His generosity and love knew no limit. His mother lovingly referred to him as “Charlie with the White Heart." Charles passed away on February 5, 1998 at Medical City Hospital surrounded by his family. His Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Monica Catholic church at 11:00 a.m. On Saturday February 7, 1998. Internment was at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
