Clark Millican is the son of Henry Clay Millican (1875-1935) and Susie Rebecca Beasley (1880-1961). He was part of a big family with siblings Benjamin Bolen (1898-1985), Lottie Fountain (1902-1990), Andrew Duncan (1904-1986), James Lloyd (1906-1922), Jas (1908-1971), Henry B (1910-1990), Annie Belle (1913-1993), Georgia C (1915-), Joseph (1920-), and Berte Millican (1922-). They grew up in Beat, Pontotoc, Mississippi, USA. Clark was in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Oregon and Tennessee before enlisting in the U.S. Army on March 6, 1941. Clark's military career took him to various locations and involved significant combat experiences. He was stationed at Schofield Barracks on Oahu, Hawaii, during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and survived the assault. He later served in England and was part of the second wave at Omaha Beach during the Normandy invasion. During his service, Clark was critically injured by shrapnel as his battalion marched toward the Battle of the Bulge. He displayed remarkable bravery and dedication, earning him several prestigious awards and commendations. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, American Defense Ribbon with one Bronze Star, and more. See Clark Millican: Military Service for more info. Clark was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant on March 28, 1946, after his remarkable service and sacrifice to his country. After his time in the military, he married Beulah Clyde Robinson on January 30, 1949 and they were married for over 50 years. Together they had one child, Connie M. Sullivan.
