Florence entered into a relationship with Herbert Johnson (1882-1950) around 1918. She and Herbert left Victoria and relocated to Manly a northern suburb of Sydney. In the early 1920s they relocated to the southern suburbs of Sydney. She was the mother of six children, four of whom are now deceased: Keith, Doreen Valona, Clifford, Reginald, Gloria and Phillip.
