George Stever Family

My name is Kimberley my father is Uel Stever the son of virgil and grandson of George and Bell Stever. Have been in contact with another Stever from George Washington and Sarah Stever Her name is Jane Stever. Would like to talk to you.

My grandfather was Ota Ward Stever. Ota was the father of three girls, Velma Raye Willyard, Edith Lyle Stever Prier Davis and Wilma Frances Stever Skelton. His wife Stella Holman died when Edith was 9 months old, either at the end of 1918 or early 1919 of the Spanish influenza. He never remarried, living with his parents George and Belle Stever. My mother was Wilma Frances Stever Skelton and my family has written a book about her; she died in 1994. Ota Stever lived with his parents. According to my mother, Ota said that his wife asked him never to remarry because she didn't want a mean stepmother raising her daughters. He honored her request and lived with his parents. There are several references to George and Belle Stever in this book about my mother. My aunt Edith is in good health and still living. If you want more information on George and Belle Stever, aunt Edith has done a lot of work on her family history and would have first hand knowledge of George and Belle Stever.
