Esther E.  VanAalst
Esther was the only child of Cornelius and Sarah VanAalst. Her father was a carpenter. The 1940 Census showed that the VanAalst family lived at 195 Elmtree Road, Rochester, New York 14612. Esther lived on Elmtree Road after the death of her parents. This area of Rochester was/is known as Charlotte. The 1919 high school yearbook for Charlotte High School shows that Esther was in the school play. She most likely graduated from Charlotte High School in 1921. Esther worked as a stenographer at Hickey Freeman, a men’s clothing manufacturer. Esther did not marry. She is buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
