Ida Lena (Steinmetz)Raines was born in Germany in 1866. Her family migrated to America around 1872, when Ida was six years old. Ida married Charles Henry Raines on July 20, 1885 in Marion County Iowa. She was divorced from him by 1900; Ida and Charles had eight children; five of them surviving by 1900. She then married an Ephram Critchett; whom she was married to when she died.
