Her name is Krista. I don’t know her. Never even met her. And yet, by the grace of our Hᴇᴀᴠᴇɴʟʏ Fᴀᴛʜᴇʀ, Krista gifted her heart to me. Her life met a tragic end in 2005 at the age of 24. Though she was young, she agreed to donate her organs in the event of her death. That decision gave my four children twenty+ more years with their father. My wife, her husband. At the time of my illness we had been married for 20 years. Since then, my wife and I just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. I was able to be a part of their high school and college graduations, witness three weddings, and celebrate the birth of five grandsons! Careers began and faith in Christ grew. Through Krista’s untimely murder, Jᴇsᴜs blessed every member and aspect of our family and our relationships with Hɪᴍ. We have also faced our share of struggles and setbacks.
