Ivan Ray White (Wilson Mullens, James Anderson, Micajah Goodwin, Benjamin "Chickasaw Ben", Wesley) was born on Jan 22 1910 in Frog Camp Wharton,Boone County West Virginia. He died on Jun 26 1994 in Lancaster Ave Charleston,Kanawha County West Virginia. The cause of death was Black Lung. He was buried on Jun 29 1994 in Memorial Gardens, Low Gap Boone County West Virginia.
He worked in the coal mines at Armco coal company in Boone
Co WV for 42 years.
He was an active member of the UMWA, and was elected by
other members of the UMWA
to fight for there rights in the coal mines.
He was a mason
He was a decon in the baptist church, and very active in the
church he went around the southeastern states spreading
the word with pastor A. Price.
He was elected from Boone County WV in 1970 to the House
of Delegates
He was on the following committees.
1. Agriculture and Natural Resources
2. Health and Welfare
3. Industry and Labor
He was a democrat and very active in his party.
strongly opposeing strip mining in southern West Virginia.
Ivan married Mary Jane Turner daughter of Samuel Tilden Turner and Willia Alice "Willie" Burgess on Oct 28 1933 in Boone County West Virginia. Mary was born on May 9 1911 in Woodville West Virginia. She died on Aug 30 1998 in Summit Ave Madison,Boone County West Virginia. She was buried on Sep 1 1998 in Memorial Gardens, Madison Boone County West Virginia.
