John Stanley Davie in kilt
This is my grandfather John Stanley Davie wearing the family colors. We descended from the clan Davidson in Scotland. His father, John James Davie, was born in Campletown, Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1888. He was one of several orphans or "Quarrier Children" sent to Canada. He arrived on the SS Carthaginian. His sister Jean stayed in Scotland and often sent gifts and clothing to him. This kilt was one of the outfits she sent. John Stanley grew up in northern NY.
