The newspaper made an error as they printed Marguerite's parents surname incorrectly they printed it as Leon Arnold {Coleman} and Lydia { Coleman} Looks like the mistake of Coleman was due to duplicating the name of the REV J.M. Coleman . should of read daughter of Leon Arnold {Cowles} and Lydia . I've noticed recordings of Margaret's birth as Jan 16, 1916, as here, however when I received the transcript of her birth Certificate , which I have included her date of birth is listed as Jan 22, 1916.
I never met Marguerite , as she died at the young age of 18 yrs old. She would of been 19 yrs old in 10 days
I'm currently in the process of researching her short life.
I have family ties to Marguerite in both my biological and adoptive family trees , her brother Carl Cowles adopted me . She was both my paternal biological Grandmother and my Aunt.
Marguerite had a son Roger ,when she died he was not quite yet 3 yrs old . He was given the surname Bacon. I've been unsuccessful in finding any form of validation of the father to Marguerite's son. for the time being I list him as unknown Bacon .
Marguerite's Mother Lydia Cowles took her grandson Roger in her home and raised him. I'm not sure if Lydia raised him his entire life, however I'm sure he was raised in his grandmothers household for the most part.
To the best of my knowledge there was no contact with Roger's fathers side of family.
