Minnie Mable Cartwright Sidler
Minnie Mable was my maternal great grandmother. Minnie married Charles Edward Sidler and moved to Tasmania. Their children were Nina Lucy Sidler (1907-1973), Iris Lyell Sidler and Clarence Charles Sidler. They ran pubs throughout Tasmania. Later the family moved back to melbourne and Minnie and Charles remained in Richmond until their deaths. Charles Sidler died in an accident on 20th September 1937. Nina was my maternal grandmother and she married George Dowker. Their children were Brian (1933) and Mary (1935-2016),my mother. I met Minnie numerous times as a child and have a photo of the 4 living generations. Minnie, Nina, my mother Mary and myself. Both Charles and Minnie Sidler are interred at Faulkner cemetery in Melbourne. Nina’s husband, George Dowker, my grandfather is buried in Melbourne general cemetery and Nina Sidler(Dowker) is buried in new Cheltenham cemetery with her sister Iris Sidler ( Lewis). Clarence Charles was cremated at Faulkner cemetery. Minnie Mable never married a Dowker, that was her first daughter, Nina. My darling grandmother.
