Phyllis Gibson, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died peacefully at the age of 93, surrounded by family. Born in New York, she was raised in Maryland where she met and married the love of her life, Cecil Gibson. They bore three daughters and shared their home with her mother Ella "Mimi" Seixas. In 1957 Phyllis, Cecil and family relocated to Redington Beach, Florida where they were active in the Bath Club, boating, camping and golfing. Phyl and "Gibby" were a fun, engaging couple who enjoyed entertaining and being with friends and family. In their retirement, they relocated again to Largo, Fl and bought a summer home in Land Harbor, NC where Phyl spent many hours volunteering at Cannon Memorial Hospital, as well as the golf course. Phyllis had a smile that would light up a room and a positive attitude that she spread like sunshine. She was a lifelong member of Chi Sigma national sorority and Seminole United Methodist Church.
Phyllis was preceded in death by Cecil, her loving husband of 50 years, and her daughter Judith Gibson Gleason. She is survived by daughters Barbara Gibson Paulson of Valley Center, CA, Deborah Gibson Lecker of Seminole, Fl. Granddaughters Kristen Barnes, Amy Brandenberger, Kelly Gleason, Jaime Gleason, Stephanie Lecker, Jennifer Lecker and five great-grandchildren.
