Russell Everhart, retired school principal- Obituary
FORESTVILLE - Services for Russell B. "Tut" Everhart, 85, formerly of Center Street, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Forestville United Methodist Church, Park Street. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery.
Everhart, a resident of the Gowanda Nursing Home, died after a lengthy illness Friday (March 13, 1992) in Tri County Memorial Hospital, Gowanda.
He retired as the elementary principal of Highland Elementary School in Derby, part of the Lakeshore Central School System, He also taught at schools in Mark-hams. Sheridan and Farnham.
Born in Smith Mills, Everhart was a 1926 graduate of Forestville Training School and a 1931 graduate of Fredonia Normal School. He also held a degree from the University of Buffalo and completed additional course work at Syracuse University.
He was a 63-year member of the Forestville United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent.
He was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association and an exempt member of the Farnham Fire Department. He also was a scoutmaster for the South Dayton Boy Scouts.
Survivors include, his wife, the former Agnes Strickland; four daughters. Elaine R. Kapuscinski of Jamestown, Betty L. Glass of Zephyr Hills, Fla., Joan C. Stone of Atlanta and Virginia L. Kittinger of Lake Mary, Fla.; one son, Herbert J.: 15 grandchildren, and 13-great-grandchildren.
