Jesse Nelms Smith and Ruth Mae Brandon Smith. Jesse was born August 1850 in Arkansas and died after 1920 in Texas. Ruth Mae was born May 1847 in Tennessee and died after 1920 in Texas. They were the parents of six children including Gilbert Jackson Smith born September 1883 in Texas. Gilbert married Grace Alcyne Roberts born 26 Oct 1891 in Hamilton Co., Texas and died 30 July 1876 in Stephenville, Erath Co., Texas. Grace was the daughter of the late Jacob Zachariah Roberts and Alice Ada Medford Roberts. Alice Ada Medford Roberts was the daughter of the late Stephen Hill Medford and Louisa Izilla Jones Medford and granddaughter of the late Zachariah Hardin Medford and Marhta Wilkes.
