Hi Sherry,
Do you know who the parents of Thomas H. Duke are? Where he was born or anything about him?
I am descended from John Wm. Duke and Catherine E. Packer who came to Texas after the Civil War with their family. They first settled in Milam and then Runnels Counties.
Some of his siblings also moved here and to Arkansas .

Thomas H Duke was born 07 February 1839 in Spalding County, Georgia to John Earl Duke and Mary Ann Gardner Duke. He married Sarah Elizabeth Thomas about 1859. They moved to Mississippi about 1870 and then to Texas around 1978.

Trying to locate some of the John P. Duke children, as well, as those who left Coweta & Carroll Cos., Ga. moving to MS. My David Duke, son of John P. Duke, where he and Elizabeth (Jones) Duke may be buried?

I have information Runnels county Dukes. Fell free to contact me. My grandfather was Fred Duke, son of Samuel Roger and Nancy Catherine "Kate". I am not home with my records but will be soon. Feel free to contact me. Fred passed away jun 2 2011 in Durant Oklahoma and is buried in Fairview Cemetery Atoka Oklahoma. NOt where he had requested. Wife did not follow his request to be buried by his past wife.
