Uncle John’s Obituary
Uncle John’s obituary. He was killed in action in Corsica on May 13, 1944. He was originally buried in Corsica and when the war ended the US government gave grandma the option to leave him where he was buried or bring him home to Brooklyn. He was returned in 1946 and St. John’s Cemetery is his final resting place in the Albaneze family grave.

He had siblings Catherine Albaneze, Jerome "Jerry" Albaneze, Minnie Kraljic, Rose Neylan, Anna Rouillard, and Marie Smith. John Albaneze died at age 22 years old on May 13, 1944 at Corsica in France, and was buried in 1946 at St. John’s Cemetery in Middle Village Queens, Queens County.
