  • Obituary

    Gene E. Bartlett Passed away peacefully in Sunnyvale, CA on Feb. 3, 2008 after a long illness. He was born in Quincy, IL May 18, 1927. Age 80. After serving in the Army during WWII, he attended Western Illinois University and the University of Utah. While at WIU, he met and married his wife, Mary Ann Meuler in 1951. They lived in Utah and Southern CA before coming to San Jose in 1964. He continued his career working at several area companies, including Stanford Linear Accelerator, UTC, Fairchild, and AMD. In his leisure time, he enjoyed getting together with family and friends, skiing, gardening and fly-fishing outings with the San Jose Flycasters. Gene is survived by his wife of 57 years, his three children and their families, Jana (Roger) King, Greg (Luveda) Bartlett and Lori (Jim) Bowers and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Sat. February 16th at 10:00 am at West Valley Presbyterian Church, 6191 Bollinger Rd., Cupertino. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Valley Presbyterian Church Foundation in his honor.
