  • Introduction

From Deseret News: Oct. 28, 1978: "'Pippin' Continues College Tradition" From Deseret News: July 18, 1979: "Utahn [Kevin Harris] at Disneyland" Kevin had just turned 39 a couple of weeks before he died, not 38 as this page says. _____________________ Kevin's mother, Evangelist/Preacher Jean A. Broner [aka Anna Jean (Holland) (Harris) Broner], 1936-2008 Published: Deseret News, Thursday, April 10 2008 Heaven celebrated the homegoing of Evangelist Jean A. Broner [aka Anna Jean (Holland) (Harris) Broner] on April 5, 2008 surrounded by the majestic mountains of Salt Lake City, Utah.Picture this: She ran, laughing, her big hearty laugh, into the light of Gods love, into the arms of her lord and savior Jesus Christ, and her dearest friend Mama. Ecstatic with joy to see her loved ones, rejoicing in knowing that she held on to God to the very end. Blessed with a life of service to others, nothing was more important to her than God and his people. The sunshine of her life were her children and her Faith Temple Family. Her fun, creative nature fed her passion for recipes, good food and good times. Jean was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 9, 1936 to Troy A. and Francis I. Holland. She attended Shortridge High School and Steven's Henager College. The span of her career included nursing as well as office manager and professional cook for YWCA and TLC Daycare in Salt Lake City, UT. Her most cherished and gratifying work consisted of 45 years as an active member of the Faith Temple Pentecostal churches, Salt Lake City, UT and Indianapolis, IN. Kevin Troy Harris was born Jul 26, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana, & moved to Utah with his mother Jean A. Broner [aka Anna Jean (Holland) (Harris) Broner] as a small child. In his early 20s, he moved to Florida for most of the 1980s where he lived with his then lover/partner, but returned to Salt Lake City in the early 1990s. He developed AIDS around 1993 and finally died on Aug 08, 1996 at age 39. I met him Spring 1978 while we were both in the chorus of the musical "Robert and Elizabeth" at the Univ. of Utah's Pioneer Memorial Theater (PMT). Later that year, he was the "Lead Player" in the musical "Pippin" at PMT. He was a very talented singer, dancer & performer. He was also a very handsome, rambunctious, charismatic & proud gay man.
