Lucy (Roberts) HARRIS (1826-1906) wife of William Finch HARRIS (1822-1896, b. NY) told grandchildren, "Your ancestor was lodgekeeper on the palace grounds of the King of England."
Unfortunately, she didn't say which ancestor or which king. It is highly unlikely she was referring to one of her own ancestors or to William's mother's family - which leaves the Harrises.
Does anyone else share this story?

The above mentioned couple is my great-grandparents. Seeking any information on their history. Have been hitting many brick walls on this couple. As much as I know they are buried in Tennessee. Would appreciated the help.
Thank you.

My g/grandfather was William Harris, who married Eliza Breakwell, I think, he was suppose to be a Potato Merchant, and sold them the Army in WW1, he also raised Draft Horses, and sold Hay and stuff etc, not sure, his son, James Edward Harris, married Olivetta Sutcliffe, who's great uncle was Herbert Sutcliffe, Olivetta has siblings-Robert,Richard,Elizabeth,Polly,Minnie, Ada,and my grandmother Olivetta, she imigrated to Australia with her two children Doreen May, and William Edward Harris, to meet James who was already here. James also had a brother William, who died around 1917,and left 2 children, William and Liza. My greatgrandmother Eliza Maria Breakwell, was a dressmaker, does anybody know of these families.

My Uncle was ROBERT LONNIE HARRIS who left home at about the age of 22. He was born- South Carolina on 12/26/1898. His mother was MAMMIE ELIZABETH WOOTEN and his father was JAMES CLYDE HARRIS. After his mother and father passed away he left home and was never heard from since. My Father tried to locate him many times with out any success.

I found on the internet a LONNIE HARRIS who married a CELIA STALVEY and they had given the right infro for his birth, mother and father. It stated he had died in 1949 AND WERE TRYING TO LOCATE HIS FAMILY.
This may be him and if it is my brothers and myself would like to meet his family if he had any children. I tried to locate the sender of this message but could not. It was posted in 1999 on genealogy.com #2895. If anyone has any information on Lonnie and Celia it would be appreciated. I will check back later to see if anyone has posted a message. I have only one picture of Lonnie at about the age when he left home.
Thanks Nancy (Harris) Howell
