Catherine N. Roseski, 21, of Bloomington, Calif., formerly of Greensburg, died unexpectedly, Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, as a result of an automobile accident. She was born Nov. 28, 1988, in Stuttgart, Germany. Cathy was a 2007 graduate of Greensburg-Salem High School and was attending San Bernardino Valley College, in San Bernardino, Calif. She was employed by T-Mobile in Rialto, Calif. She was preceded in death by her loving grandfather, Rafael Santiago II, in 2009. She was the beloved daughter of Thomas and Leticia Roseski and loving sister of Alyssa, of Greensburg. She is survived by her maternal grandmother, Elisa Santiago, maternal great-grandparents, Rafael and Ramonita Santiago, of Bloomington, Calif., and godparents, Rafael Santiago (Jr) III, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Elizabeth Tisnado-Garcia, husband, Juan Carlos, and cousins, Claudia, Juan and Kevin, all of Downey, Calif. She is also survived by her beloved pet Chihuahua, Baby, who now resides with her parents. She is also survived by paternal grandparents, Victor and Bonnie Roseski, and paternal great-grandmother, Catherine Knoblock, all of Dunnellon, Fla. Also surviving are her uncles, Robert Roseski and wife, Heather, and cousins, Corie and Kaitlyn, and uncle, Mark Roseski, all of Mercer, uncles, Tim and Jim Roseski, and cousins, Jason and Jamie, all of Dunnellon, Fla., and other numerous family members and close friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Church of the Brethren, 554 Stanton St., Greensburg.

CHP investigates fatal car crash on 15 Freeway

The California Highway Patrol responded to a single-car fatal accident early Sunday morning on the southbound 15 Freeway northeast of Barstow.

About 5:06 a.m., CHP investigators were on scene at Harvard Road, where a Chevrolet Corvette with a driver and two passengers went off the freeway into the open desert.

One of the passengers, identified as Catherine Roseski, 21, of Bloomington was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:15 a.m., authorities said.

The unidentified driver was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition and the other passenger, also unidentified, sustained minor injuries, according to the Coroner’s Office.
