1809 Walter Alves Deed to Curd Cox (2-2)
Although his Knox Co. Revolutionary War pension file (S3169) details his service at the 1781 Battle of Guilford Courthouse in NC, Curd Cox claimed no action at any other Rev. War battles. Kings Mountain Battle Park (NPS) can find no record of his participation in this battle, even in supplemental lists; and he is not mentioned in what is considered the definitive work on the Kings Mountain Battle by Lyman Draper. Thanks to cousin Phyllis for sharing her findings from the NPS. This land purchase in north Knox Co. was about 30 years after Curd's military service.
