1809 Walter Alves Deed to Curd Cox (2-2)
Although his Knox Co. Revolutionary War pension file (S3169) details his service at the 1780 Battle of Guilford Courthouse in NC, Curd Cox claimed no action at any other R.W. battles. One author does credit his participation at the Battle of Kings Mountain, but he is not mentioned in what is considered the definitive work on this battle by Lyman Draper. This land purchase in north Knox Co. was abt 30 years after his military service.
