L.R. Andre Cimon-B/Gen. Canadian Airforce (Ret'd): Andre was born and raised in Quebec City. He joined the Air Force in 1955 and his career spanned some 35 years. His many assignments included postings in Maritime Air Command, Training Command, Mobile Command, Air Defence Command, a tour of peace-keeping duties in Ismalia, Egypt, Canadian Attache to Belgium and Luxembourg, Deputy Military Representative for Canada at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, and four years at National Defence College, Kingston. He was also assigned to two exchange postings with USAF at Griffiths AFB, Rome, New York as Deputy Commander of the 24th NORAD Region, then to Langley AFB, Virginia as Deputy Commander of the CONUS NORAD Region. His final posting was back to NDHQ from where he retired.
