Bill & Belle Van Tassel - Woods Mills, NY

This portrait of Wm G Van Tassel & wife Isabelle Mc Robbie was taken by Elsie Stewart Wood of Woods Mills, NY. Dau Gertrude married their son, Wm Sylvester Van Tassel. This copy was a photo of the curved-tin print that their daughter Ellen kept at the Hammond farm in Carthage. It burned in a fire. The original glass negatives of Elsie Wood were donated to the Watertown Times by Esther Van Tassel White. Hopefully, a crisp copy will be made in time for the 2002 Family Reunion in Oxbow next October!
