Thurston Eugene Van Tassel
Uncle Thurst was born May 5, 1873 on Red Lake Island. He married Nellie Matthews in 1902. Forrest & Agnes were their children. He first worked on Jim Crawford's farm, Nellie foster father. In 1912, they moved to the Lake Lawn farm in Edwardsville. Nellie died in 1923. Thurston bought the Crawford farm from his son in 1947 and lived there until he died Sept 27, 1954.
