"Boss" Carpenter and family
Taway Van Buren Carpenter, called "Boss", his wife Lillie (Hall), and his nine children. One daughter, Una,who was blind, was still living alone on the Carpenter homestead (Crenshaw Co. or Covington Co., AL0 in the 1990s.
Boss was the son of Sampson A. Carpenter, who was a cousin of Cary and nephew of William Bailey.
