Catherine or Katherine Lord
I believe this is the mother of Catherine W (Lord) Jenkins, the wife of Alonzo Raphael "Ralph" or "AR" Jenkins. She was b. in NY (2 census returns) or VT (1 census return) about 1835 and I don't know anything more. I'd like to know her maiden name and where she is buried. She was last seen on the 1880 census in Susanville, Lassen, CA, but her daughter's marriage record said she was living in Vermont. Her middle initial was an E or M. Kate had most of her children in Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts. Kate was married to James H Lord, a stone cutter born in Massachusetts. Children Kate (Lord) Jenkins, Natalie/Natalyn/Nettie (Lord) Peckham, Olivia, Grace, Frederick Sumner, Gertrude and Emma; all surnamed Lord. James H Lord had to go into a Disabled Soldier's Home in Sawtelle, Los Angeles in 1895, so I supect Kate died about that time. He died in Calaveras County in 1912 and is buried in Redding, CA with a Veterans gravestone. He was a musician in Co. A 19th Massachusetts 28 Aug 1861 to 30 Jun 1865. Any help on a positive ID appreciated. The back is marked "Vivian's grandmother". Vivian is the grandmother of my cousin Rick McCarter, who contributed the photo.
