Col. John B. Sheeks

Col. John B. Sheeks married Diadema Turley on 15 July 1824 in Lawrence County. They had 13 children: Catherine who would marry Solomon Bass; George who would marry Julia Howe Marshall; Ruth who would marry Joseph H. Miller; David who would marry Florence Barnes; Newton who died at 19 months; Jane who would marry Harvey Henderson Marley; Hugh who would marry Elizabeth A. Fields; Elizabeth who would marry Wm Von Tress; Lucetta who would marry Elijah Murray; Benjamin who never married; Dianah who would marry John S. Monroe; Rosanna who would marry Joseph Albin; and Mary A Sheeks who would marry James D. Moore.
Col. John B. Sheeks was born in Wayne County, Kentucky and died 16 May 1889 in Vernon County, Missouri. He is buried at the Mitchell City Cemetery.
