Dema W. WELLS, first child born to Charles W. & Sarah Ann (GREGG) WELLS.

Records of descendant and researcher, Emily LYONS, state that Dema was born March 20, 1856. Her tombstone shows September 20, 1856. The 1900 IL Randolph Co., Kaskaskia PCT Census, Series T623, Roll 338, p. 210 shows her date of birth as May 1857. This census also shows a W. as middle initial for Dema. (NOTE: The 1900 census shows her date of birth as Apr 1857.)

1860 - Dema, her parents and siblings, are shown on the 1860 MO, Dunklin Co., Union District,West Praire post office, census; Series M653, Roll 618, p. 899. The census was taken June 15th and she is shown as 3 yrs old. Her place of birth is shown as IL, which appears to be incorrect. She was born in MN according to census records.
