Edwin Burke Ives was a well known photographer in Niles, Michigan, Mr. Ives was born in 1832 in Jefferson, Ohio and arrived in Niles, Michigan about 1865. He served for a short time in the Civil War. He is noted in his March 1906 obituary as "the leading photographer in Niles and Berrien county for 40 years, and was one of the best known photographers in Michigan.
