A photo of William "Billy" Tuttle in probably the late 1950's when he was in his 90's. He was born in 1865 in Laurel County, Kentucky (the son of Preston and Ann Tuttle) and died in 1959 in Pontiac, Michigan. He was married to Louisa Jones.

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Margret HOPKINS which was taken at the Chas. Olin Studio in Cassopolis, MI sometime in the 1890's. Margret appears to be about 4 -5 years old at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this family: Margaret Adelaide HOPKINS was b. 8 Jan 1889 in Cass Co. MI to parents Willis Duane HOPKINS (1859-1947) and Frances TURRILL (1860-1931). Margaret was one of 6 children born to this couple including, Blanche Amelia; Alfred Turrill; Leonie; Margaret Adelaide; and Helen Caroline; and Cora Louise HOPKINS, all born between 1881 and 1894. Margaret died 26 Nov 1967 in South Bend, IN and is buried in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Cassopolis, MI. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Donald SWITZENBERG which was taken in the early 1900's when Donald was just an infant. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Donald and his family: Donald F. SWITZENBERG was b. 19 Feb 1909 in Allegan, MI to parents Fred W. SWITZENBERG (1880-1960) and Edith Mary WISE (1877-1946). Donald had one sister, Katherine Mary SWITZENBERG (1916-2006). Donald died 9 Feb 1979 in Lansing or Meridian, MI and is buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Allegan, MI. Donald was a Biologist with the Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources and the director of the Cusino Wildlife Experiment Station in the Upper Peninsula until he retired in 1962. His obit noted his surviving sister as Katherine MILESKI and her husband Leo MILESKI. Nieces and nephews are noted as Kayelee and Bruce STEUDER and Mary and David DANDURAND. Census records provide the following details: 1910 census of Allegan, MI: Fred W. SWITZENBERG, age 31, married 4 years, born MI, parents born Germany, a Postman Edith M. SWITZENBERG, wife, age 32, married 4 years, 1 child/1 living, born England, parents born England, to USA 1892 Donald F. SWITZENBERG, son, age 10 months, born MI 1920 census of Allegan, MI: Fred W. From a lot of orphaned photos I acquired. Researching hasn’t revealed much, but Bess Peters was born around 1931, maybe in Michigan, she had a younger sister, Roula Peters and their mother was Susana Peters. They may have lived in Detroit. They seem to be of Greek ancestry.

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Flora HOLLENBECK which was taken in 1895 in Berrien Springs MI when she was just a teenager. The name John HOLLENBECK appears on the back of the photograph was well along with ordering instructions and the family location in Berrien County, Orenke (sp?) Township. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Flora and her family: Florence or Flora E. HOLLENBECK was b. 15 Jan 1881 in Oronoko, MI to parents John (b. MO) and Mary A. (b. MI) HOLLENBECK and died 27 Aug 1896 in Oronoko Township, Berrien Co., MI and is buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Oronoko, Berrien Co., MI. I’ve “rescued” an old photograph of Lois Marie FORD which was taken at the C. F. Baldwin Studio in Berrien Springs, MI. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900’s with Lois identified as 4 months old at the time. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Lois and her family: Lois Marie FORD was b. 1902 to parents Frank B. FORD and Lydia or Lida Gertrude HOLLENBECK (1874-1906) and died 19 Jul 1903 in Berrien Springs, MI and is buried in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Berrien Springs MI. Another baby born to this couple was born and died in 1904 and is buried along with Lois in the same cemetery.
