General William Lenoir
William Lenoir was an Indian Fighter at the beginning or the american Revolutionary War. As Captain Lenoir he rallied the NC Militia troops at The Battle of Kings Mountain and defeated the British. He was wounded at Kings Mountain and on at least one other occasion. He became a Major General in the NC Militia. He served in the NC legislature. He built Fort Defiance a historic home in NC today.
