George Whitfield Ivey was the son of George H. W. Ivey (1799 - 1839)and brother of Mary Ann Ivey Johnson (1831 - 1894). His mother was Mary Wilmuth Lewis Brown (1813 - 1877).George married Therina M.Heath on Jan.16,1858 in Petersburg, Virginia. His numerous letters to the Confederate Veterans association are online at the Library of virginia.He and Therina had seven children.
