Gerda was born in Chicago in 1888, but moved back to her mothers hometown Oslo, Norway at the end of the 19th century and lived there until apx 1915, when she moved to Brooklyn, USA and lived there until her death in 1963. She was a variete singer and married ? Howells. She can be found in both the 1900 and 1910 censuses in Oslo, Norway. In 1900 she was living with her grandmother Josefine Amalie Kay, while in 1910 she was living with her aunt and uncle Konstance and Harald Thommessen and their children, Karl and Elsa.
