Nicholas was born in Bourbach, le Bas, France April 6, 1790 and died in Adams County, Indiana August 22, 1857.
Nicholas Stucki (Swiss Spelling) age about 50, landed in New York, Sept. 15, 1846 in the ship Memphis from LaHarve, France. The ships captain was David LeBronkin. The father and all the children but the first Barbara, came to this country to a land of religious freedom to start a new life. They settled in Wayne Co., Ohio. After living there about a year, the family moved to French Twp., Adams Co., Indiana. Bought 144.60 acres of land on June 3, 1847 on the east side of the Wabash River.
Nicholas is buried in the Daniel Moser cemetery, Adams Co., Indiana, north of the Evangelical Mennonite Church.
