John Brinkley Burks

John 'Brinkley' Burks was born April 25, 1807-1808 in Newton Co., Georgia and died Aug. 8, 1888 in China Grove, Pike Co., Alabama. He was the son of William Burks, Jr. and Mary 'Polly' Dunston and grandson of William Burks, Sr. and Lurena 'Lenora' Harris. Brinkley md. 1. Temperence 'Tempy' Evans on Jan. 31, 1831 Newton Co., GA and moved to China Grove in 1835. After her death in 1873, Brinkley married Sophronia E. Lawrence (Turner).
