My gr-gr-maternal grandparents, John Russell(Russel) and Polly Reid Russell. Their marriage certificate states John Russel and Polly Reid, were married at William Reids in Clay County Kentucky in presence of Wm. Reid and Wm. Mobley, signed Reverend Samuel Martin. They later moved to Jackson County Kentucky. In Clay County the lived with Martin Russell as per 1860 Census. Some of John's family had a falling out and went by the name of Reed or Reid instead of Russell. I am searching for John's parents. His death certificate lists parents as Preston Russell and Lizzie Russell, but I've been told this may be incorrect, since it was info given my a son from his third marriage. His family is also connected to the Reid/Russells of Claiborne County Tennessee as they all are familiar with the Reid/Reed/Russell falling out and changing names. If you have any information concerning John or Polly, please contact me. Their children were Martha, Sarah, Jane, William, Dawson and Daniel. William, being my gr-grandfather.
