John William Pring born 22 Jun 1845 in Newton Popleford, Devon, Eng. and died 28 Nov. 1922 in Colorado Springs, Co. He married in London, Eng. 15 Jul 1866 Mary Jane Beer. He was personal cabinet maker to Queen Victoria. The Prings migrated to the U.S. in 1867 and set up a furniture factory in Rock Falls, Ill, but later sold out and bought land in what is today Colorado Springs, Co. He began cattle ranching and developed one of the largest cattle ranches in the country. He also owned several mines in the area.
