Anna (Beauchesne) Gagnon
My grandmother gave birth to 11 children. Her oldest son Antonio Thomas Joseph Gagnon died in 1950 at the young age of 17 in the Korean War. When she passed away she had 10 children, 23? grandchildren, and 5? great-grandchildren. Anna developed diabetes and had to have insulin shots which my aunt gave to her. Near the end she could hardly see or walk anymore, the diabetes took over. I used to take her to bingo for a little while once a week at the Elks. I would mark the numbers she missed and when she had a bingo, I would tell her to yell bingo. She loved to gamble, especially bingo. One time it was almost blizzard like conditions outside and no one would give her a ride to bingo, so she called a cab and went any way. She mostly kept to herself. She was not an affectionate person and her feelings were kept inside, as well as my grandfather. They lived in the great depression with a number of kids. This could be how they were raised also.
