Did you know that today is National Arkansas Day? This circa 1900 photo of Lycurgus "Curg" Worth Ruple says Arkansas to me, even though he was born in Louisiana.

Born in 1854, he migrated to Arkansas around 1874 and married Queenie Bass in 1877. Staying in Arkansas for the rest of his life, he died in 1919 in Faulkner County, Arkansas.

The beard, the pipe . . . the name! This looks like a man who should be remembered
