Morgan and Elizabeth Williamson Messer
This photo was probably taken in Wayne County, West Virginia. This is Morgan Messer born abt. 1836 in Perry County, Kentucky, son of Stephen and Frances Messer. Morgan fought in the Civil War. Elizabeth Williamson is his first wife. They married in Lawrence County, Kentucky on October 2, 1857. Morgan and Elizabeth had one child together which was my grandfather, James "Redhead" Messer. Morgan and Elizabeth divorced June 12, 1866 in Wayne County, West Virginia. Morgan later married Fanny Spaulding and Elizabeth married David Aldridge. I have all of the documents on this line and I am happy to share them with other researchers.
