Redvers Turner
My Father, Redvers Turner at age 14, travelled through the Church of England, from Barnstaple, Devonshire, England to Quebec, Canada aboard the Ascania steamship, in 1929. From there he travelled west by train to Alberta where he settled and worked on farms in the Ponoka area of Alberta. "Red" met my Mother, Margaret Bollingbroke Marshall while working at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. They married in 1940 and had four children. Dad was a devoted husband and theirs was a truly happy marriage. Dad worked for the Campbell family in their furniture store in Edmonton for many years. He was a trainer for the South Side Athletics Soccer team, loved hockey with his Son, Roy and the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team. Red passed away in December 0f 1975 in Edmonton.
