Sadie B. Ashworth Neff
Mrs. Sadie B. Neff (my gr-grandmother) wrote and published "Living Gems of Verse" a book of poetry which was placed in the Indiana State library's historical department. She was a member of National Poetry Center, Radio City, New York, Rockefeller Center. She was a native of Illinois but lived in Indiana many years both in Connersville and Indianapolis. Her book was dedicated to her 7 grandchildren and to her many friends, young and old, in the hope that it may spread a little happiness and sunshine over a troubled world. Sadie had two children, Mrs. Lucille Lake and Mrs. Kathryn Brown, both of the Connersville - Everton IN area. Many of her descendants still live in this area. Some of the poems had to do with early history of pioneer folk, such as her grandparents, Cornelius and Hannah Mooney Ashworth, who traveled by covered wagon from Mercer Co. VA (now W. VA) to Coles Co. Illinois.
