Theodore Newton Vail - AT&T President 1918

Photo Details

Theodore Newton Vail was President of AT&T between 1885 and 1889, and again from 1907 to 1919.

He persuaded President Wilson that the telephone company should be a monopoly so that it could grow - and it was for several decades.

You could say that Vail, as an industrialist, was instrumental in creating the market for iPhones today!
